LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will open a brief three-game home stand on Thursday-Saturday, July 1-3, against the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. All three games will begin at 7:10 p.m. at Cashman Field.
The 51s, under first-year manager Terry Kennedy, are concluding an eight-game road trip tonight at Fresno, Calif.
The 51s will present two Fireworks Shows after the final out on Friday and Saturday, July 2 and 3. All seats are prized at $11.00. Friday's show is presented by Cox Communications and Saturday's show by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Following the brief home stand, the 51s will travel to Tucson, Ariz., to face the Sidewinders, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The four-game series will run from Sunday-Wednesday, July 4-7.
The 51s then will return home for the final four games before the Triple-A All-Star break (Monday-Wednesday, July 12-14). The 51s will host the Salt Lake Stingers, Triple-A affiliate of the Anaheim Angels, from Thursday-Sunday, July 8-11. All games will begin at 7:10 p.m. except for the matinee game on Sunday, July 11 at 12:05 p.m. The Triple-A All-Star Game will be held on Wednesday, July 14, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The game will begin at 4:10 p.m. (PDT) and be shown on ESPN 2.
On Saturday, July 10, the 51s will present Carl's Jr. Friends & Family Night and Los Angeles Dodgers T-shirt Night. The Carl's Jr. deal includes: 4 reserved seats, 4 Carl's Jr. meals (Famous Star hamburger, fries, soft drink), 2 51s T-shirts and 2 51s hats, all for just $24.95. The Carl's Jr. Meals are not available at Cashman Field and there is a $5.00 handling fee.
Dodger T-shirts will be given out to the first 2,500 fans in attendance. The game marks the second of four Dodger giveaway nights during the 2004 season. The remaining two nights is: Dodger Beach Towel Night on Friday, July 23 and Dodger Lunch Box Night on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the Cashman Field box office. Tickets can also be purchased through TicketMaster (474-4000, www.ticketmaster.com). TicketMaster outlets are located at Smith's Food & Drug, Tower Records and Nellis Air Force Base.
The individual game tickets for the home season are priced at $7.00 (general admission), $8.00 (reserved), $9.00 (plaza) and $11 (field). Military personnel receive a $2.00 discount on tickets for general admission, reserved and plaza seats all season long (except on July 2 & 3).
