The Sacramento River Cats (77-45) beat the Edmonton Trappers (60-60) 15-3 on Sunday at Raley Field. RHP Justin Duchscherer (12-2) earned the win, allowing just 3 ER on 6 H in 6.0 IP. He entered the game in the second inning, after RHP Jim Mecir started the game as part of a rehabilitation assignment. The River Cats' 15 runs matched a season-high. Six Sacramento players recorded multi-hit games. DH Chris Prieto and C Mike Rose homered in the game.
With the win, the Cats completed a four-game sweep of Edmonton (first place, PCL North) and extended their winning streak to a season-high seven games. Duchscherer became the first River Cats pitcher to win 12 games in a season.
