The Sacramento River Cats (76-45) beat the Edmonton Trappers (60-59) 9-5 on Saturday in front of 13,792 fans at Raley Field. LHP John Rheinecker (1-0) earned his first Triple-A victory, allowing 5 R (4 ER) on 10 H in 6.0 IP. RHP Britt Reames (3-13) took the loss for Edmonton. 1B Graham Koonce, DH Mike Edwards and RF Mike Lockwood each recorded 3 H in the game. SS Bobby Crosby and Koonce both homered for Sacramento.
Koonce's home run was his 25th of the season, matching a River Cats single-season record (Eric Hinske, 2001). With the win, Sacramento has won its last six games, a season record.
