The Sacramento River Cats (88-49) had their 13-game home winning streak snapped Monday with a 9-2 loss to the Tucson Sidewinders (70-67) at Raley Field. RHP Erik Hiljus (11-9) took the loss, allowing 7 R (2 ER) on 4 H in 6.0 IP. Tucson scored six of their nine runs in the second inning. 1B Lyle Overbay was the offensive star for Tucson, going 2-for-4 with 2 HR. C Mark Johnson led Sacramento's offense with 2 H.
With the loss, Sacramento's record is now 88-49. The Cats need just two wins to match their club record for victories in a season (2000 club: 90-54).
