Right hander Angel Garcia has been placed on the disabled list, effective today, with right shoulder tendonitis. Garcia is 2-0, with a 4.26 ERA on the season in 17 appearances (3 starts). In 25.1 innings, he has struck out 33 batters while walking 20.

Taking the open spot on the roster is the Minnesota Twins 2005 second round pick, Paul Kelly. The shortstop was the 54th pick overall in the 2005 June Amateur Draft out of Flower Mound (TX) High School. Kelly has played in 40 games with the rookie level Gulf Coast League Twins this season, batting .277 with 2 home runs and 20 runs batted in, while carrying a slugging percentage of .365 and an on-base percentage of .358.
