
'Riders One-Hit Travs, Win 1-0

North Little Rock, AR - The Frisco RoughRiders one-hit the Arkansas Travelers and won 1-0 on Monday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.
RoughRiders starter RHP Richelson Pena (W, 1-0) took a perfect game into the sixth inning, but walked SS Angel Rosa with two outs on a close two-strike pitch. Pena retired each of the first 17 Travs in the game but was then removed after issuing the walk. Pena pitched one inning in his first appearance of the season and threw 79 pitches on Monday.
Arkansas 3B Andrew Daniel produced the lone Travs hit of the night with a two-out double in the seventh.
Travs starter RHP Blayne Weller (L, 0-1) was very strong in his Angels organizational debut. The righty allowed the lone run of the game on a 1B Ronald Guzman home run with two outs in the sixth. Weller surrendered four hits with no walks and five strikeouts. He also hit three batters.
RHP Reed Garrett (H, 1) and RHP Matt Bush (S, 2) completed the shutout for Frisco.
RHP D.J. Johnson, LHP Edward Paredes and RHP Alan Busenitz each pitched scoreless baseball out of the 'pen for Arkansas.
Arkansas went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position and is now 3-for-22 this season.
The last four Travs starters (Victor Alcantara, Jordan Kipper, Alex Blackford, Weller) have combined to toss 22.1 innings and have allowed only two runs on 14 hits with six walks and 21 strikeouts.
With the loss, Arkansas drops to 1-4 on the season. The two teams will conclude the series on Tuesday morning at Dickey-Stephens Park. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
