April 12, 2016 - Texas League (TL1)
Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are excited to announce a revamped CoServ Teacher of the Month program this season.
The program's reach will expand drastically this year, reaching Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt, Johnson, Kauffman, Rockwall, and Tarrant counties. Teachers from all grade levels are eligible for nomination.
"Teachers are some of our community's brightest stars, and we want to make sure they know we appreciate everything that they do," said RoughRiders Executive Director of the RoughRiders Foundation Breon Dennis. "We know there are some great teachers all over North Texas, and we want them to have a chance to be recognized for all their hard work."
Nominations will be accepted online through the RoughRiders community page or by mail until May 1.
And it's not just teachers that have a chance to shine in local schools. The RoughRiders have teamed up with Whataburger to present the RoughRiders art contest. Kids ages 12 and under are eligible to enter an illustration of their favorite RoughRiders player as part of this year's "WHATA-player" theme. The winning design will be printed on baseballs given away as part of Kids Sunday Funday on July 17, and other great prizes. Entries will be accepted through April 29. More information is available online.
The RoughRiders are also pleased to announce the return of the RoughRiders Foundation grant program for local non-profit organizations. Five grants of $1,000 each will be awarded this year. Organizations can apply for this year's grant program online through July 1.
