KODAK, Tenn. - Joey Rickard ripped a go-ahead double in the tenth inning while Matt Ramsey (3-0) went the final three innings in a 3-2 win for the Biscuits (41-41/6-6) over the Tennessee Smokies (41-40/8-4) Monday night at Smokies Park.

After six scoreless-innings by both sides after the third inning, Rickard was able to break the silence in the tenth. Kes Carter, after reaching base on a fielders choice, stole second base with two outs. Rickard followed with the double to give the Biscuits the lead.

Ramsey - a Knoxville, Tennessee native - entered the game in the eighth inning to cheers from friends and family. He walked a batter to start the eighth then struck out two and got a fly out to end the inning. The hard-throwing righty worked a perfect ninth inning then worked around a leadoff single in the tenth to earn his third win of the year.

The Smokies took a 2-0 lead in the second inning with an RBI-double from Elliot Soto followed by an RBI-single from Jae-Hoon Ha.

The Biscuits came right back with a run-scoring double by Carter in the third. A sacrifice fly by Ryan Brett brought in Carter to tie the game.

The middle-game of the series is Tuesday night at 6:15 cst. LH Jimmy Patterson will make a spot start for the Biscuits. He will face off with RH Corey Black.
