PEARL, MS -- In his second Double-A start, Greg Ross tossed a complete game shutout to lead the Mississippi Braves to a 6-0 victory over the Huntsville Stars Monday evening at Trustmark Park. Kyle Wren led the Braves at the plate with three hits and two RBI. The series continues Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

Mississippi (7-5, 46-35) scored six runs on 11 hits while Huntsville (7-5, 53-29) managed just six hits in the game. In addition to Wren's offensive performance, Mycal Jones also recorded three hits and scored twice. Barrett Kleinknecht had two hits and two ribbies.

The M-Braves jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fourth. Matt Kennelly walked and Kleinknecht blasted a two-run homer over the Bud Light Picnic Pavilion to put the Braves out front 2-0.

Daniel Castro then doubled and Jones singled. Jones took second on Ross' sacrifice bunt. Jose Peraza then walked and Wren delivered an RBI-single. Cedric Hunter followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Jones before Jose Peraza stole home.

Jones led off the bottom of the eighth with a single to center. He advanced to second on Ross' second sacrifice bunt of the night. A ground out allowed Jones to move over to third before Wren singled up the middle, driving in Jones and extending the Braves lead to 6-0.

Ross (2-0) picked up his second win in as many tries. He tossed all nine innings, giving up six hits and two walks while fanning three batters. The last M-Brave to toss a nine-inning complete game was Zeke Spruill on July 22, 2012, at Jacksonville.

Jed Bradley (1-4) gave up five earned runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out three in four innings.

In game three of this five-game series, M-Braves righty Williams Perez (3-4, 2.66) counters Stars right-hander Drew Gagnon (5-2, 3.05). First pitch is slated for 7:00 PM. Gates open at 6:00 PM.
