
Farrell's Late Triple Caps 12-10 Comeback Win in Chattanooga

Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons scored eight runs over thefinal two innings and picked up a 12-10 win in the continuation of Sunday's suspended game against the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Park.
The Barons wasted no time in jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first against starter Garrett Gould. Dan Black doubled home Trayce Thompson for the first run andscored on a base hit by Rangel Ravelo. Josh Richmond followed with an RBI triple scoring Ravelo.
Chattanooga answered back with single runs in the first and third, cutting the Barons lead to 3-2. Daniel Mayora's RBI single in the first put the Lookouts on the scoreboard against starter Mike Recchia. In the third, Scott Schebler's hit a solo home run but shortly thereafter the game was delayed due to rain. Play was suspended and resumed Monday.
After play resumed, Jared Mitchell gave the Barons a 4-2 lead in the fifth on an exhilarating inside-the-park home run. It was the first inside-the-park homer for the Barons since Shawn Garrett accomplished the feat on August 4, 2007 in Mobile.
The Lookouts took their first lead of the game in the sixth, scoring four runs including three on a home run by Darnell Sweeney against reliever David Cales. A Chris O'Brien two-run double in the seventh extended the lead to 8-4.
The Barons cut the lead to 8-7 in the top of the eighth on a Jamie Pedroza bases-clearing double but Chattanooga added a key insurance run in the bottom half of the inning on Sweeney's second home run to take a 9-7 lead.
The Barons came all the way back to take the lead in the ninth as Black and Ravelo reached, putting the tying runs on base with two outs for Josh Richmond whodelivered with a clutch two-run single to tie the game at 9-9. After a walk to Martin Medina, Jeremy Farrell put the Barons ahead with a two-run triple. Pedroza capped the inning with an RBI single giving the Barons a 12-9 lead.
Black finished with a team-high three hits going 3-for-5 while Pedroza finished 2-for-5 with a team-leading four RBI. Richmond pitched in with two hits andthree RBI of his own as the Barons improved to 5-5 in the second half and 34-46 overall.
The Barons will look to make it two wins in one day in their regularly scheduled game later tonight. RHP Nick McCully (3-6, 5.65) takes the hill for the Barons against RHP Matt Shelton (2-1, 3.62). First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 PM CDT.
