TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Britain Rock Cats will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels blasted three home runs and cruised to a 6-2 win over the Rock Cats in the opener of the three-game set Tuesday night at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTER: Right-hander David Mixon gets the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Suffered the loss for just the third time in 11 starts 6/3 against Harrisburg...Allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings of work...Struck out six and walked one...All four runs allowed were driven in by Michael Martinez (RBI double in the 2nd, 3-run homer in the 6th)...Allowed the leadoff batter to reach in three of his six innings on the mound...Seven hits allowed matched a season high...Just the third time in 11 starts he allowed more than two runs...Has pitched into the sixth inning in eight of his 11 starts...Lost for the first time when tossing six-plus innings (5-1)...Loss was the first for Richmond when leading after five innings...Ranks third among starters in the Eastern League in fewest base runners per nine innings at 9.69 (70/65.0 IP) and is third overall in WHIP (1.02)...Ranked fourth among Eastern League starting pitchers with a .221 batting average against, tied for fourth in strike outs (58) and is 12th in ERA (3.32)...Is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in two starts against New Britain.

Right-hander Deolis Guerra gets the nod in game two of the series for the Rock Cats...Makes first start since returning to New Britain after making five appearances, including four starts, with Triple-A Rochester...Went 0-3 in a 6.84 ERA...Last outing came in relief 6/4 against Toledo...Allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits in just two innings of work...Began the season with the Rock Cats and went 1-1 with a 3.07 ERA in five starts...Promoted to Triple-A after allowing just one unearned run on six hits in 6 1/3 on 5/8 against New Hampshire...Has struck out 21 batters and walked four in 29 1/3 innings with New Britain...Appeared in 12 games, 11 starts, with Double-A New Britain in 2009...Went 6-3 with a 5.17 ERA...Allowed 62 hits in 62 2/3 innings...Began the 2009 season with Advanced-A Fort Myers...Went 6-8 with a 4.69 ERA in 16 appearances, 15 starts...Gave up 95 hits in 86 1/3 innings...Traded from the New York Mets along with right-handers Kevin Mulvey and Phillip Humber and outfielder Carlos Gomez in exchange for left-hander Johan Santana, February 2, 2008...Is the lone player acquired in the trade still with the Twins organization...Enters the 2010 season rated as the #22 prospect in the Minnesota Twins farm system according to Baseball America.

TIME FLYS: Last night's game lasted just 2:13 making it the shortest nine-inning game of the year for the Flying Squirrels...The previous quickest nine-inning game lasted 2:16 on 5/22 at Reading...The shortest game of the year overall for Richmond was 1:35 in game two of a double-header on 4/27 at New Britain.

ROCKING THE CATS: Richmond is 7-0 against New Britain this season...The Flying Squirrels swept a pair of three-game series from the Rock Cats including one at The Diamond (4/19-4/21) and one at New Britain Stadium (4/26-4/28)...Half of the club's wins in April came against New Britain...Dating back to last season, the San Francisco Giants Double-A affiliate is 23-4 versus the Rock Cats.

CHICKS DIG THE LONG BALL: The Flying Squirrels hit a season-high three home runs in last night's win over the Rock Cats...The club has homered four times over the last two games after going 12 games without a long ball...The club had previously homered just seven times at The Diamond including a pair of inside-the-park home runs...Richmond's 26 home runs as a team are the fewest in the Eastern League.

THOMAS THE TRAIN: Outfielder Thomas Neal collected a season-high four hits in a 4-for-4 effort at the plate last night against New Britain...The 22-year-old leads the club with 17 multi-hit games, 14 doubles and is tied with Conor Gillaspie for the team lead with 18 extra base hits...Since dropping down in the order 6/4 at Trenton, Neal is 8-for-15 (.533) over his last four contests with three doubles and two RBI and two runs scored.

HERE'S THE CATCH: Catcher Jackson Williams is 5-for-10 with a double, home run and four RBI after snapping an 0-for-27 skid at the plate...His home run last night was his first since the home opener 4/15 against Reading...The 24-year-old began the season with an 11-game hit streak (14-for-34)...His average has dropped from .412 to .196 since his hit streak came to an end...Williams sat out the final two games of the series with Harrisburg, marking the first time this season he not appeared in consecutive games.

DRIED CLAY: Outfielder Clay Timpner was gone four straight games without a hit for the first time this season...He previously had not gone more than two games without a hit...The 26-year-old is 0-for-15 over his last four games with a RBI, a run scored, two walks, and three strike outs...Timpner's average dipped from .354 to .317...He still is tied for third in the Eastern League in batting average...Since returning from the DL 5/15, Timpner is 17-for-81 (.210) in 23 games with just four RBI...Prior to the groin strain, he was batting .459 (28-for-61) over his first 24 games with 12 RBI.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 73 double plays in 58 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Richmond improved to 8-0 when one of its starters goes seven innings or more...Right-handers Daryl Maday and David Mixon have combined for six of those eight wins.
