
Cord Phelps Heads to Columbus

The Aeros made a roster move today as IF Cord Phelps was transferred to Class AAA Columbus. No corresponding roster move has been made yet and the active Akron roster currently stands at 23 men.
Phelps, the everyday starting second baseman for the Aeros this season, was batting .296 in 53 games played in his first year in Double-A. He also had 23 RBI, 25 runs scored and eight doubles so far. Last season with Class A Kinston, he batted .261 while appearing in 130 contests. He is a 23-year-old Stanford product and was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the third round of the June 2008 Draft.
