TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Reading Phillies will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels gave up four runs in the bottom of the third inning and dropped the opener of the three-game series with the Phillies 7-3 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Ronnie Ray gets the spot start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...

Making his second start of the season in place of the injured Clayton Tanner...Received a hold after tossing three scoreless innings in relief against Altoona 5/14...Gave up just one hit while striking out three and walking none...Threw 39 pitches, 25 strikes...Recorded four ground outs and two fly outs...Retired the leadoff batter in two of his three innings on the mound...Outing was his second-longest of the season (3 2/3 innings 5/10 at Bowie)...Prior to his spot-start on 5/10 at Bowie, he had not throw more than three innings since 6/29/08 at Binghamton when he went 3 2/3 innings and recorded a save...Has allowed two runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings (2.84 ERA) against the R-Phils...Has struck out five and walked two Reading batters in four appearances against them this season...Had not started a game since 8/8/09 while with Triple-A Fresno prior to his outing on 5/10 at Bowie...Was 0-1 with a 14.14 ERA in three starts in 2009 with Fresno...Allowed 11 runs on 14 hits in seven innings with five strike outs and four walks...Traded from the Los Angeles Angels along with left-hander Dusty Bergman in exchange for left-hander Jason Christiansen on August 30, 2005...Originally selected by the Angels in the 14th round of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft.

Right-hander Jason Anderson gets the nod in game two of the series for the Phillies...Making his second start of the season...Received a no-decision in his only other start 5/14 at Akron in game two of a double header...Allowed two runs on six hits in three innings...Struck out three and walked one...Has tossed seven scoreless innings out of the R-Phils' bullpen...Has given up three hits over five outings while striking out seven and walking two...Left-handed batters are hitting .412 (7-for-17) against him while right-handed batters have just a .111 (2-for-18) batting average against him...Began the season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley and went 0-3 with a 4.35 ERA in nine relief appearances...Has appeared in a combined 32 games in the Major Leagues with the Yankees, Mets, and Indians...Is 2-0 with a 6.39 ERA lifetime in the majors...Signed as a minor league free agent by the Philadelphia Phillies May 10, 2007...Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2000 First-Year Player Draft...Attended the University of Illinois.

AT A LOSS: The Flying Squirrels have lost five of their last six games entering tonight's contest with the R-Phils...The pitching staff has given up 10-plus hits in all five of the losses...The club has given up 35 runs on 63 hits in the losing efforts (7R, 12.6H/G).

BY THE DOZEN: With a win tonight, the Flying Squirrels would match their win total from April...The club went 12-9 in the season's first month...Richmond is currently 11-9 through 20 games in May...The team is scheduled to play 30 games this month.

THE DON JUAN: Super utility man Juan Ciriaco has a five-game hitting streak over which he is 8-for-16 (.500) with three doubles, a triple, three RBIs, and four runs scored...Overall, six of his 11 hits have gone for extra bases including five doubles and a triple...Ciriaco has started games at shortstop (3), third base (3), right field (2), left field (1), second base (1), and first base (1).

CLUTCH CLAY: Outfielder/first baseman Clay Timpner is 12-for-28 (.429) with runners in scoring position after last night's RBI single with two outs in the top of the first inning...The rest of the team is hitting a combined .179 (57-for-318) with runners in scoring position...The 27-year-old has at least one hit in 22 of the 24 games he has started.

SOMETHING BRUIN: Shortstop Brandon Crawford is 8-for-20 (.400) over his last six games with a double, home run, three RBI, and four runs scored...The UCLA product has also walked six times and struck out three times over that span.

BURNT KIESCH-NICK: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is 0-for-24 over his last six games since seeing his five-game hit streak come to an end...He has struck out four times and has walked once over that span...The 23-year-old seen his average dip from .306 to .255...Kieschnick was 8-for-15 (.533) over his five-game hitting streak with three home runs, nine RBI, and three runs scored.

FREAKY FRIDAY: Last night's 7-3 loss was Richmond's first loss on Friday...The club had won each of its first six Friday contests.

ERROR MESSAGE: The Flying Squirrels have committed 10 errors in the past five games including a season-high five errors in the game on Sunday...It is the first time this season that Richmond has committed an error in five straight games...The club has slipped from first to third in fielding percentage (.982) and in errors committed (28).

MAKING THEIR PITCH: The Flying Squirrels' pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.95 ERA...The club has also allowed an Eastern League-low 134 runs...Richmond pitching leads the Eastern League with six shutouts.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 51 double plays in their first 41 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels matched their largest blow-lead of the season, giving up a 2-0 lead in last night's 7-3 loss to the R-Phils...It was the fourth time this season that Richmond has given up a two-run advantage and lost...The nine hits allowed by right-hander Mike MacDonald matched the most given up by a Flying Squirrels' starter this season...Right-hander Daryl Maday also gave up nine hits in a winning effort 5/2 against Bowie.
