Reading Fightin Phils News Release

The R-Phils (16-24) host the Richmond Flying Squirrels (23-18) tonight at 6:05 p.m. in the middle game of their three-game set from FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading. The R-Phils are fresh off a 7-3 win in Friday night's opening game and will look to make it two-straight wins.

Taking the ball for the R-Phils tonight will be RHP Jason Anderson (0-0, 1.80), who has appeared in six games thus far in the 2010 season for Reading. Over those three games, the 30-year-old has held batters to a .257 average. On May 14th at Akron -- his only start of the season, Anderson lasted three innings, allowing six hits and two runs. In his Minor League career, he has compiled a record of 51-41 with an ERA of 3.48. The righty has averaged 7.5 strikeouts per 9 innings, and has fanned 656 batters.

The Flying Squirrels will try to even the series at a game apiece as they send righty Ronnie Ray (0-1, 5.68) to the mound. Like Anderson, he will be making just his second start of the season, to go along with his nine relief appearances. He has yet to surrender a home run in 16.2 innings in 2010, and has fanned 10 batters to just five walks. Ray has faced the R-Phils four times this season, allowing two earned runs in 6.1 total innings pitched.
