Richards Loaned To Toledo, Hogs Face Lake Erie Tonight

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs keep rolling as they carry a four-game win streak into the Rockford MetroCentre at 7:05 p.m. to battle the Lake Erie Monsters. The game will mark the first of three times that Lake Erie will make the trip to Rockford in 2009-10.

The first 2,500 fans into the building will get an IceHogs jersey bag courtesy of Rockford Orthopedic, 23 WIFR and BOB FM.

Fans are also encouraged to bring new teddy bears to the game as part of the annual Teddy Bear Toss. When the IceHogs score their first goal of the game, fans can throw the stuffed animals on to the ice. Players and IceHogs staff will then distribute the items to Rockford area children's charities and the local hospitals throughout the rest of the year.

Super Fan Cameron Hughes will be in the stands throughout the night, presented by Nicholson Hardware, Rock Valley College, 23 WIFR and BOB FM. The Super Fan is making his second appearance at the MetroCentre in 2009-10.

Tonight's game can be heard on 1330 AM WNTA or on-line through icehogs.com beginning at 6:35 p.m. Fans with Comcast Cable can watch to tonight's action on Channel 57. The game will also be available on the web with AHL Live. The Hogs knocked off the Grand Rapids Griffins 2-1 on Friday night for the second time in a week. The Griffins had been strong at home carrying a 9-1-0-0 record before the IceHogs handed them two more losses on their home ice.

The IceHogs have won six of their last ten games and look to extend their current four-game win streak.

Next Home Game: Sunday, Dec. 6 vs. Manitoba Moose: The game will begin at 4:05 p.m. The IceHogs complete their second four games in five night stretch against the Moose. Sunday is another Family Four Pack game which includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks and four popcorns for just $44. All students with a valid student ID can also get the best seat in the house for just $10 with the WXRX Student Rush program after 6 p.m.

GOALIE ALEC RICHARDS REASSIGNED TO TOLEDO

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday that the Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned goalie Alec Richards to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Richards, 22, picked up the win for the Hogs in Friday night's 2-1 victory over Grand Rapids for the second time a week. The rookie net minder stopped 33 shots. The Robbinsdale, Minn. native has appeared in three games for the IceHogs in 2009-10 with a.929 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against average.

He has skated in nine games with Toledo during his first professional season, carrying a 5-1-0-3 record in 2009-10 with a.909 save percentage and a 2.78 goals against average.
