Columbus Assigns Left Wing Alexandre Picard

Syracuse, NY (December 5, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned left wing Alexandre Picard to the Crunch.

Picard, 24, has appeared in 19 games for the Crunch this season and is tied for second on the team in scoring with eight goals, seven assists and 26 penalty minutes. He has also skated in one game with Columbus this year.

In 211 AHL games from 2005-09, all with the Crunch, Picard has tallied 63 goals, 63 assists and 374 penalty minutes. In addition, Picard has skated in 59 NHL games, all with Columbus, notching two assists.

A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was selected by Columbus in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch's next game is Saturday, December 5 as they wrap up a home-and-home series with Binghamton at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
