
RHP Braulio Ortiz Promoted from Winston-Salem

The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox have announced that RHP Braulio Ortiz has been promoted to Birmingham from Class A Winston-Salem. Roster at 25.
Ortiz, 22, posted a record of 0-8 with a 5.05 ERA (29 ER/51.2 IP) with 51 strikeouts and three saves in 20 appearances with the Dash this season including nine starts. He will be making his Double-A debut with the Barons.
A native of San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic, was signed by the White Sox as a free agent on July 1, 2011. Entering the 2014 season, Ortiz was rated by Baseball America as the White Sox No. 21 prospect. In three professional seasons prior to 2014, Ortiz had posted a career record of 4-11 with a 4.53 ERA (75 ER/149.0 IP) with 147 strikeouts.
