July 4th Game at Regions Field Sold out for Second Year in a Row

Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons have announced that their July 4th game against the Tennessee Smokies at Regions Field is now sold out. The sellout will be the fifth of the season for the Barons and the 11th regular season sellout in thefirst 109 games at Regions Field.

Fans will have the opportunity to watch the Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show presented by the Vulcan Park Foundation and Fox 6 WBRC from their seats following the conclusion of the game. Fans will also have the opportunity to see Jake the Diamond Dog perform during the game courtesy of HealthSouth. First pitch at Regions Field is scheduled for 6:00 PM with gates opening at 4:30 PM.

The Barons lead the Southern League in total attendance for the second-straight season (260,734) and average attendance (6,518 per game) through the first 40 home games of the 2014 season. It's the highest total attendance through 40 games in franchise history leading both the legendary 'Jordan Season' in 1994 (244,648) and the inaugural season at Regions Field in 2013 (230,334).

In conjunction with Minor League Baseball, the Barons will don special 'Stars and Stripes' caps during the game along with their alternate camouflage uniform top. A limited number of these caps are available for purchase in the Barons Sports Depot Team Shop with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Welcome Back Veterans Foundation.

Prior to the national anthem, their will be a special Iwo Jima flag raising reenactment on the field presented by the 87th Army Reserve Support Command Color Guard.

Tickets are still available for the team's July 5 game at Regions Field which will feature a special Saturday Fireworks Show presented by Coca-Cola, Alabama Power & Glowble Lighting. Gates open at5:00 PM with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 PM on Saturday.
