The Chicago Cubs have made the following roster moves that have impacted the Myrtle Beach Pelicans roster:
RHP Ben Hecht has been promoted to Double-A Tennessee from Myrtle Beach
LHP Jack Patterson has been promoted to Myrtle Beach from Low-A South Bend
Patterson, a lefty from Suffield, Conn., dominated with South Bend, going 5-1 with a 2.34 ERA over 16 appearances. The 23-year-old is in his first full professional season after being drafted in the 32nd round by the Cubs out of Bryant University. His senior season there, he recorded 101 strikeouts, the most by any lefty in program history.
Patterson will wear No. 56. The Pelicans roster now sits at 25 active players with five players on the Injured List.
