York Revolution News Release
(York, Pa.): Yeah, yeah, we know. "Deflategate" is low-hanging fruit, and plenty of other minor league baseball teams have tried to capitalize on the on-going saga of spongy footballs. And you're tired of hearing about air-pressure, rogue ball boys and way-too-easy double-entendres about...well you know what.
HOWEVER, there's only one professional baseball team in America that will be playing the "Patriots" next weekend. The York Revolution has organized the very first "Deflatriots Day" for Friday, May 22 against the Somerset Patriots (the ones from New Jersey).
The Revolution will attempt to take the air out of the visiting Somerset club through a "PSI" effort (Patriots of Somerset Intimidation), pumping up the Santander Stadium attendance by deflating every ticket price by 12% in honor of Gisele's husband, in person and online. If purchasing online, use the promo code "deflate12" to take advantage of the discount. (And that's four air-pressure jokes in this paragraph, if you're scoring at home.)
Anyone brave enough to wear the jersey of the man at the center of maybe the largest sports scandal in American history will be admitted FREE on May 22. However, anyone who is wearing a New England #12 jersey will be BANNED from the Stauffer's Playground. (No exceptions). It's too big a risk, as for safety's sake we can't have people who are sympathetic to low air pressure inside a professional sports setting in that area. The inflatable rides and slides in the playground MUST be properly inflated at all times, or they're not safe for the kids. Oh won't someone think of the children.
Anyone with the first name Brady, or Tom, or anyone with the last name Brady may purchase tickets for half off the normal price the night of the game, by showing ID at the ticket office. All of those folks, plus the jersey wearers will receive a free flat mini-football courtesy of the Revolution & WellSpan Sports Medicine. Pumping up the ball to your liking is on you, or you can have one of your co-workers do it for you and just assume everything will be fine.
Finally, Friday night's game is also another "Guaranteed Win Friday" presented by Commonwealth Connections Academy; in the unfortunate event the Revolution lose the ballgame, there's no reason to feel emptier than a Patriots-approved football inside. Your ticket from the game will be valid for any other Sunday through Thursday home game this season, redeemable within a week of May 22 at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
The York Revolution Professional Baseball Club is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and Atlantic League Champions in 2010 and 2011. 2015 is the Revolution's ninth season of operation at Santander Stadium, the centerpiece of Downtown York, PA, located at 5 Brooks Robinson Way. The facility hosts all 70 home games in addition to myriad events through the entire calendar year. For tickets or more information, please call 717-801-HITS (4487) or visit the Revolution online at YorkRevolution.com.
