Revolution Set Club Record in 1-1 Draw with New York Red Bulls

August 17, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - New England Revolution News Release

HARRISON, N.J. - The New England Revolution (9-9-8, 35 pts.) played to a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls (11-10-5; 38 pts.) at Red Bull Arena on Saturday evening. With its seventh consecutive win or draw on the road, New England set a new club record for longest unbeaten run in away games. After conceding the game's opening goal to New York's Marc Rzatkowski in the 18th minute, newcomer Gustavo Bou responded with the equalizer in the 65th minute to help New England secure its second ever regular season result at Red Bull Arena.

Bou's goal marks his fourth through six MLS appearances, pulling him into a tie with Cristian Penilla and Juan Fernando Caicedo for third most goals scored among Revolution players. Dating back to his MLS debut on July 17, Bou's four goals are tied for third most among all MLS players. Fellow newcomer Carles Gil registered his 11th assist of the season on the goal, which moves him into a tie for fourth most helpers in MLS. In net, goalkeeper Matt Turner set a new single-game career high with nine stops in the draw.

New England's seven-game away unbeaten run eclipses the club's previous mark of six set in 2008. The Revs have registered a 3-0-4 mark during the run, which dates back to a scoreless draw on May 15 at Montreal.

New England returns to action on Saturday, Aug. 24 when the club hosts the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.
