Breaking Down the XI | On Short Rest in Minnesota
August 17, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Orlando City SC News Release
Orlando City has made the trip north to take on Minnesota United on just three short days of rest. James O'Connor has still pieced together a strong starting XI with some nice options off the bench.
In goal, Brian Rowe will start. He has allowed just one goal in his last three starts and has recorded four clean sheets in his last seven.
In front of him will be the same backline from Wednesday night with Kamal Miller, Robin Jansson, Lamine Sané and Kyle Smith. Smith exited in the 12th minute of the mid-week match due to a collision with the goalkeeper, but will be healthy and ready to go tonight.
In the holding midfield, Will Johnson and Sebas Méndez will start after getting a break during the week.
In the forward midfield, Benji Michel, Nani, and Robinho will spearhead the attack. Michel, who scored coming off the bench against Toronto last weekend, has converted twice this season on the same number of shots.
Starting up top as the lone striker will be Dom Dwyer.
You can catch tonight's broadcast in the Orlando Metro area on My65 or streaming on Youtube TV. Nationwide you can watch the match on ESPN+.
Starting XI presented by Orlando Health: Rowe, Miller, Jansson, Sané, Smith, Johnson, Méndez, Michel, Nani, Robinho, Dwyer.
Bench: Akindele, Ascues, DeJohn, Kljestan, O'Neill, Pereyra, Ranjitsingh.
