New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will honor members of the military, local police and fire personnel, and first responders, active and retired, for their service and dedication in keeping our communities safe when the club hosts its annual Salute to Heroes match this Sunday, July 3. The Revolution welcome FC Cincinnati to Gillette Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
On Thursday afternoon, Revolution players Jozy Altidore, Ryan Spaulding, and Ben Reveno kicked off this week's Salute to Heroes activities with a visit to Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass. The trio of Revolution players teamed up with Revolution Academy coaches to host a soccer clinic for approximately 50 children of military families.
Following Sunday's match, Gillette Stadium will host a fireworks display to celebrate the Independence Day holiday. Tickets for Sunday's contest are available at Revolutionsoccer.net/tickets and 1-877-GET-REVS.
Sunday will also feature another Revolution Drive Series presented by Dan O'Brien Automotive Group. As fans arrive at the stadium gates, the Revolution will be collecting new and gently used soccer equipment to benefit the United Heroes League, a non-profit organization that keeps military kids healthy and active through sports by providing gear, camps, grants and special experiences. On the pitch, Revolution players will wear limited edition American Flag-themed numbers. The game-issued jerseys will be auctioned after the match, with proceeds benefitting USO New England, a non-profit organization that strives to strengthen America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. Prior to the match, 22 children of military families will comprise the "Dream Team" as they escort both teams' players onto the field for the pregame ceremonies and National Anthem. Finally, branches of our nation's armed forces will set up informational booths throughout the stadium concourse.
The 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday will be televised locally on WSBK-TV38 and myRITV (Rhode Island), and on the radio via 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio in Portuguese.
