Turning DRV PNK Stadium into a Fortress
Inter Miami returns to the road this week following a crucial 2-1 win at home over Minnesota United FC in its previous match on Saturday, June 25. With the win, the team extended its unbeaten run at DRV PNK Stadium to six. Heineken Man of the Match Indiana Vassilev scored his first two goals of the season to lead Inter Miami to victory over Minnesota, becoming the first player in MLS history to score both a game-tying and game-winning goal after entering the game in the 80th minute or later.
Team of the Week Honors for Vassilev and Duke
Vassilev and midfielder Bryce Duke, who assisted Vassilev in the 87th minute to tie the match 1-1, earned MLS Team of the Week honors for week 16 of the season following their stellar performance against Minnesota.
Second Matchup in Club History Against Dallas
Inter Miami will now travel to Frisco, Texas, to take on FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium on Monday, July 4. The matchup set to kick off at 9 p.m. ET will see both sides meet for the second time in club history; the teams previously faced each other in October 2020 in a match that resulted in a 2-1 for Dallas.
Familiar Faces
The matchup may present a special reunion for Inter Miami midfielder Victor Ulloa, who could face his former side. Ulloa was signed as FC Dallas' first Homegrown Player in franchise history before going on to make 173 appearances across all competitions between 2011 and 2018, tallying six goals and seven assists and helping the team clinch the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title and the 2016 Supporters' Shield.
