Cedar Rapids, IA - The Chuck Fulton Memorial Home Run Derby, sponsored by Perfect Game USA and the Cedar Rapids Kernels, was held on Sunday, June 30th after the Kernels game with Peoria. 150 boys and girls, age 12 and under participated in this FREE event and received a FREE t-shirt, thanks to Perfect Game USA. Here are the winners from each age group:

Age 6-under Most home runs: Dakota Clark Longest home run: Daniel Peplinski

Age 8-under Most home runs: Hunter Clark Longest home run: Logan Grady

Age 10-under Most home runs: Michael Bries Longest home run: Lucas Willman

Age 12-under Most home runs: Blake Schulte Longest home run: Matthew Martin

The 6 and 8 age groups hit from a batting tee while the 10 and 12 groups hit live pitching. Home run distances were adjusted based on the age group.

The Kernels take a short road trip to Beloit with games tonight and Wednesday and return home for a two game series against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Thursday, July 4th with game time set for 5:05 pm.
