Doug Deeds collected three hits and Brandon Allen drove in three runs for the Aces Monday night, but a four-run first inning for Memphis vaulted the Redbirds to a 12-5 victory over Reno at Aces Ballpark.

The Redbirds victory snaps a season-long five-game winning streak for the Aces.

Memphis jumped on Aces starter Cesar Valdez early, and the Redbirds never looked back. Valdez (4-8) took the loss, surrendering seven runs-six earned-on 10 hits over five frames. He walked two and struck out seven. Jason Urquidez tossed two scoreless frames, and TJ Beam worked a shutout inning before Leyson Septimo surrendered five runs-three earned-in the top of the ninth. Kasey Olenberger relieved Septimo and finished off Memphis in the final frame.

The win went to Redbirds starter Lance Lynn (10-8), who scattered a run on five hits over six innings of work. Lynn walked one and punched-out three.

Jeff Bailey doubled for Reno, extending his on-base streak at Aces Ballpark to a franchise-high and league-leading 36-straight games. Deeds finished his night 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Allen watched his hitting streak grow to 11 with a 1-for-5 night at the plate.

The Aces and Redbirds hook-up again on Tuesday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Kevin Mulvey (6-7, 4.97 ERA) toes the slab for Reno. Memphis will counter with LHP Nate Robertson. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. PT.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
