Salt Lake Bees News Release

Luis Figueroa belted a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Salt Lake Bees a 6-5 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Monday night. New Orleans had taken a 5-3 lead in the top of the 10th on a two-run single by Brad Davis, but Michael Ryan led off the bottom of the inning with a walk. One out later, Paul McAnulty drew a walk from Zephyrs' closer Scott Strickland (4-2). With two out, Figueroa fell behind in the count at 0-2, fouled off a pair of pitches before lifting one onto the right field berm to win the game.

Bobby Mosebach (2-0) gets the victory despite allowing the two runs in the 10th after working a scoreless ninth. Jason Bulger and Brian Stokes each tossed a scoreless inning, as they continue their injury rehab assignment from the Angels. Figueroa ended the night with two hits, two runs and three runs batted in, while Terry Evans added two hits and two runs scored. Kevin Frandsen, Ryan and Nate Sutton each drove in one run, as the Bees pull to within one and one-half games of first place Tacoma.
