Reimold And Montanez Go Batty Behind Unstoppable Waters

(Manchester, NH) - Lou Montanez had four hits and scored three runs, Nolan Reimold had four hits and three RBI and Chris Waters has won his fourth consecutive start. The Baysox won the first of a four game series against the Fisher Cats, 7-3, to improve their record to 10-10.

The Baysox scored a pair of runs in the top of the first and never trailed in the game. With one out in the first, Lou Montanez hit a single to right field. Ryan Finan and Ben Davis each drew walks, and with the bases loaded and two outs Nolan Reimold hit an infield single to drive in a run. Zach Dillon singled to left to score Finan before Travis Brown grounded out to end the inning. The Fisher Cats would answer in the bottom of the second when Ryan Patterson doubled to center to drive in two runs.

Bowie would add another run in the second, third and fourth innings. In the second inning, Sebastien Boucher drew a walk, went to third on a Lou Montanez single to center and scored on a Ryan Finan groundout. Nolan Reimold hit his second home run of the season with one out in the third inning to make it 4-2. Lou Montanez got his third hit of the game in the fourth inning and moved to second when Jeff Nettles was hit by a pitch. Nolan Reimold singled to left for his third hit of the game, driving in Montanez for his third RBI.

The Fisher Cats scored their final run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ryan Keefer relieved Chris Waters with the bases loaded and one out with the Baysox leading 5-2. Keefer walked pinch-hitter Anthony Hatch to force in a run before getting Ryan Klosterman to ground into an inning-ending double play.

After getting out of the trouble in the sixth, the Baysox added another pair of runs in the seventh. Blake Davis walked to lead off the top of the seventh inning and scored on a Lou Montanez double. Montanez scored from second when Jeff Nettles grounded into a force out and second baseman Chris Gutierrez threw the ball away attempting to turn a double play.

Chris Waters allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks in 5.1 innings pitchedm and is now 4-0 on the season with a 1.73 ERA. Ryan Keefer and Jim Miller combined to throw 3.2 scoreless innings in relief. It was the third consecutive game that the Baysox bullpen did not allow a run.

The Baysox and the Fisher Cats will play the second game of the series Friday at 6:35 p.m. RHP Brad Bergesen will make his first start of the season for the Baysox.
