Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Ontario, CA - Despite 35 saves by rookie goaltender Travis Fullerton, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Ontario Reign 3-2 on Wednesday night in Citizens Business Bank Arena. For Las Vegas, the defeat extended their winless streak to seven, as they now hold a 1-3-2 record against Ontario in six matchups. Chad Nehring was responsible for both Vegas goals in the loss, giving him now nine points in his last eight games.

The Wranglers wasted no time in getting to work offensively, as Nehring (8) batted home a power-play goal just 4:34 into the first period to give Las Vegas a 1-0 lead. The goal, which was Nehring's fifth in the last eight games, was assisted by Adam Huxley (8) and Charlie Cook (11).

Ontario would get even 7:32 into the second period, as Chris Crane buried his eighth of the year, assisted by defensemen Adrian Van de Mosselaer (9) and Matt Register (18). Las Vegas however would snatch the upper hand right back, as Nehring (9) scored his second goal of the night, again on the power-play, this time assisted by Adam Hughesman (12) and Chris Francis (18).

With 9:37 to go in the game the Reign would tie the score up 2-2 as Brett Beebe kicked home his fourth of the season, assisted by Sacha Guimond (11) and Crane (10), who finished with two points on the night.

With neither team able to break the tie before regulation came to a close, the two found themselves in overtime for the second time in the season series. With time running thin, Ontario's Matt White ended the game with his 12th goal of the year, assisted by Cody Sol (5) and Guimond (12), his second assist of the night. It was the second time the Reign had taken down Las Vegas in an extra period this season.

The Wranglers and Reign will face off once again on Friday, Feb. 14, this time in Las Vegas. The game will be a 7:05pm start, featuring a special free post-game concert with Jason D. Williams immediately after the final horn.
