Ontario Reign News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, in part with Stater Bros. Charities, are honored to pay their respects to the men and women who have served this country during the team's fifth Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3:00 p.m.
This game against the Bakersfield Condors marks the first specialty jersey night of the season as the entire Reign team will sport American flag inspired jerseys and socks to be auctioned off immediately following the game. The proceeds from the live auction, emceed by PA Announcer Jeff Pope, will go to Stater Bros. Charities to benefit various veteran organizations. Last year the Reign raised more than $23,000 during the live jersey auction and are looking to raise even more for our veterans this year.
Over 60 recruits will be taking the Oath of Enlistment and becoming Soldiers during an on-ice swear-in ceremony with the US Army.
Also, there will be a hockey game after the post-game jersey auction played by Patriots Hockey. Patriots Hockey is a Southern California ice hockey team comprised of all active duty, reserve, retired, and veterans of the military. The team was assembled to use their love for the game as a means of giving back and paying forward to the military community.
Military personnel will receive a special discounted ticket price for this game. Please call 909-941-PUCK (7825) to learn more about getting your tickets today.
Don't forget daylight savings time ends at 2:00 a.m. on November 4, so be sure to set your clocks back before you go to bed the night before so you can arrive to the game on time.
Reign Drops:
The Reign will continue their road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 24 when the Reign visit the Idaho Steelheads in Boise. Since the Steelheads took the Reign out of the Kelly Cup Playoffs last year during a very physical series, there is sure to be some contention between the two clubs. The first of two games in Idaho will start at 7:10 p.m. (MT), 6:10 p.m. (PT) at CenturyLink Arena.
The Reign will play three more road games before returning home to Citizens Business Bank Arena to face the Bakersfield Condors on Military Appreciation Night sponsored by Stater Bros. Charities. Don't miss this great game and honor the men and women who have, and still are, serving the United States of America.
