
Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Prepare for Southern Road Trip

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Greenville Road Warriors and Ontario Reign this week for a record of 1-2-0-0. On Friday, the Stingrays visited their in-state rivals, the Road Warriors, at the Bi-Lo Center, falling 5-2. Forward Alden Hirschfeld scored both goals for the Rays. Saturday was Military Appreciation Night presented by General Dynamics at the North Charleston Coliseum as the Stingrays and Reign met for the first time in team history. Forwards Hunter Bishop and Andrew Cherniwchan scored first-period goals and goaltender Shawn Hunwick made 37 saves in a 3-1 Stingrays victory. The Reign bounced back on Sunday, skating away with a 5-2 win. Forward Mike Hamilton registered both Stingrays goals.

Rookie Andrew Cherniwchan stands ninth among first-year players with four points (two goals, two assists) and second with a 33.3 shooting percentage (two goals on six shots).
