Orlando Acquires Turkiewicz from San Francisco

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have acquired forward Keaton Turkiewicz from the San Francisco Bulls in exchange for defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin.

Turkiewicz (6'0", 190 lbs.) has appeared in two games with the San Francisco Bulls this season, his first as a professional. He picked up three points, all assists, against the Bakersfield Condors on October 19, leading the Bulls to a 5-3 victory. Last season, he led the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) in points with 47 in 28 games, and in 99 CIS games with the University of Western Ontario (CIS) Turkiewicz had 57 goals and 75 assists for 132 points.

The Brampton, Ontario native played four seasons in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) from 2004-08 with the Sudbury Wolves, Windsor Spitfires, and Belleville Bulls. In his final season in the OHL (2007-08) with the Belleville Bulls, Turkiewicz competed for the Memorial Cup. He played in 191 games in the OHL, finishing with 112 points (58 goals, 54 assists) and 134 PIM.

"Keaton is a dynamic forward who put up good offensive numbers in college last season," said Head Coach Drake Berehowsky.
