North Charleston, SC - Matt Reid scored twice, including the game winning goal, while Davis Parley did his part in net for the South Carolina Stingrays in a 4-2 win over the Augusta Lynx on Saturday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Reid would put the Stingrays on the board first with a power play marker just 3:43 into the period, followed by a shorthanded goal Cam McCaffrey for a 2-0 lead just 6:54 into the frame. McCaffrey's long wrist shot from outside the Lynx blue line hit Augusta netminder Brett Jaeger in the shoulder, popped up into the air and landed behind him in the goal. Despite a late 5-on-3 advantage in the period, the Lynx were unable to beat Parley early and the Stingrays carried a two-goal lead to intermission.

Reid would notch his second of the game to make it 3-0 at 2:44 of the second period before Dirk Southern took a pass from Mike Erickson in the South Carolina slot and slid the puck through the legs on Parley to cut the lead back to two goals. A second Stingrays' power play goal made it 4-1 as Chris Chaput fanned on his first attempt but swatted the puck out of midair at 18:32 during a five-on-three situation.

Augusta did manage a power play marker of their own in the third period. Jason Platt took a Jamie Johnson feed and found a hole on the glove side of Parley to make it a 4-2 game at 16:48, but the Lynx could draw no closer.

Parley finished with 41 saves for the win while Jaeger turned aside 25 shots in taking the loss.

Augusta's next home game will be Friday, November 10th at 7:35 pm vs. the Stingrays, which will feature a salute to our armed forces and a visit from the Zooperstars! Tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, online at www.TicketMaster.com and through all TicketMaster locations.
