
Reid Returns From Europe

FLORENCE, SC â The Florence Pride, proud members of the ECHL, announced today that the team has re-signed forward Matt Reid. He becomes the second former Pride player to return to the team in the last three days, joining Eric Naud who signed with the club on Tuesday.
This will be Reid's fourth season with the Pride. Last season, the 25-year-old had a breakout season scoring a team-leading 72 points (28 goals and 44 assists) in 62 games. He also was third on the team with a +28 rating. Reid also received a brief call-up to American Hockey League, going scoreless in two games with the Portland Pirates.
In 196 games with the Pride, Reid has 61 goals and 107 assists for 168 points. He ranks sixth in Pride team history in goals, and is fifth in both assists and points.
During the off-season, Reid decided to leave the Pride to play in Europe, and signed with the Basingstoke Bison of the Elite Ice Hockey League. In 26 games with the Bison, Reid tallied 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points, to rank third on the team in scoring.
"We are excited to have Matt back in our line-up," Pride Coach Perry Florio said. "Matt has been a fan favorite here in Florence for the last three seasons, so I am sure that everyone is excited to have him back. Hopefully, we will have great turnouts for the two games this weekend to welcome him back."
The Pride are home for a pair of games this weekend. Tomorrow, they host the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:30 on Parrothead Night. Nationally-known entertainer Barrie Cunningham will be on hand to perform a post-game concert with his tribute to Jimmy Buffett. All fans who wear Parrothead attire to the game will receive a free ticket to a future Pride home game. Saturday, the Columbia Inferno are town, also at 7:30, on Mascot Night. Paws will welcome all of his friends to the Lion's Den, and during the first intermission, all of the mascots will take part in the Pride's annual mascot hockey game.

Groups tickets are now available for the Pride's annual Church Night, on January 31 against the Greenville Grrrowl. Following the game, local recording artists N'Accord will perform a post-game concert. Group tickets start at the low price of just $7.
