
2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Officials Named

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Thursday that the officiating crew for the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game would be comprised of referee Brian Thul and linesmen Craig Kneale and Jerry Burt.
The 29-year-old Thul is in his fourth season with the ECHL. A native of
Hutchinson, Minn., Thul worked the Southern Conference Finals in the 2003
Kelly Cup Playoffs and will make his debut as a referee in the American
Hockey League later this month.
A native of St. Louis, Mo., Burt is in his eighth season with the ECHL and
has officiated professionally since 1981. He worked the 1993 International
Hockey League All-Star Game in Fort Wayne, Ind. and represented the United
States at the World Hockey Championships in 1994 in Italy and in 1995 in
Sweden. Burt also works as a video goal judge for the National Hockey
League at St. Louis Blues home games.
The 25-year-old Kneale is in his third season with the ECHL. A native of
St. Louis, Mo., Kneale worked the 2003 Kelly Cup Finals and is also a
linesman in the AHL.
Current NHL referee Ian Walsh worked the 1997 ECHL All-Star Game while
current NHL linesman Brian Mach worked the 1999 ECHL All-Star Game. NHL
contracted referees Jeff Smith, Brian Pochmara and Justin St. Pierre worked
the 1998, 2001 and 2002 ECHL All-Star Games, respectively. Smith, Pochmara
and St. Pierre are all currently officiating in the AHL.
Sponsored by the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino and hosted by the Peoria Rivermen,
the 12th Annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition will be held at
the 9,919-seat Carver Arena at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Ill. The
Skills Competition will be at 7:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday, January 20 and the
game will be played at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, January 21. Tickets to
