March 26, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release

The Situation

The Grizzlies enter the week with a season long nine-game unbeaten streak at 4-0-1-4, which is also the longest current point streak in the ECHL.

Playoffs

The Grizzlies will open their sixth-straight playoff appearance next week against the Ontario Reign or the Idaho Steelheads. The Grizzlies will play Idaho if they beat Colorado in regulation during all three of this weekend's games.

The Goalie

Utah goaltender Ben Meisner has started six-straight games for Utah since joining the team out of college at American International College on March 13 and remains unbeaten in his professional career. He is 2-0-0-4 with a 2.21 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage. If he had played enough minutes to be eligible for ECHL Goaltender Leaders, he would be second in save percentage and tied for second in goals-against-average.

Eight-Game Scoring Streaks

Linemates Adam Estoclet (four goals, 12 assists) and Colin Vock (eight goals, six assists) lead Utah with eight-game scoring streaks. Vock leads Utah with 28 goals and is second in the ECHL with 17 goals since February 1.

Coming Back

During their nine-game unbeaten streak, Utah has had to come from behind in eight-straight games, erasing 13 total deficits. Utah has come from behind in the third period five times and in the final 2:06 of a game to tie twice during the streak. March 16 in San Francisco, Utah rallied back to tie three separate times in the third period and four total times in the game.

Finishing Strong

The Grizzlies are 5-2-1-5 in their last 13 games over the last four weeks for a .615 winning percentage.

Players Coming Back

Utah captain Riley Armstrong (16 goals, 19 assists in 35 games) and third year forward Chris Donovan returned to the Utah lineup on Saturday for the first time in over two months after injuries and both factored in on two big third period goals. Donovan fed Berkley Scott for the game-winner to make it 2-1 in the third period and Armstrong tipped in a pass from rookie Brent Gwidt, in his first pro game to make it 3-1.

See You At Maverik Center

The Grizzlies return home Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to host Colorado in their first home games in 18 days after six-straight games on the road. Wednesday is a Wild $2 Wednesday with $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Fries, $2 Soft Drinks and $2 Draft Beers, plus $5 student tickets. Friday and Saturday is Fan Appreciation Weekend, that includes a post-game skate with the team after Saturday's game for the regular season home finale. In addition, we will be giving away team posters on Saturday too.

Television Saturday

The Grizzlies will televise their third and final game of the regular season Saturday at 7 p.m. on My Utah TV. The "Voice of the Grizzlies" Adrian Denny will again handle the play-by-play and KUTV's Adam Mikulich will be interacting live rinkside between the benches. The television feed will be simulcast live on the Home of Utah Grizzlies Radio 1320 KFAN. My Utah TV is available on Dish Network and DirecTV on channel 12, channel 22 on Comcast and channel 2.2 over the air.
