Steelheads Receive Two from AHL

Boise, ID (3/26/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that the Idaho Steelheads have received goaltender Tyler Beskorowany and forward Austin Fyten from the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Beskorowany was re-assigned to Idaho by the Stars organization while Fyten was released from a professional tryout contract with Texas.

The 22-year-old Beskorowany, who has played in 51 AHL games in his career, is 16-11-3 with one shutout so far this season with the Steelheads with a .911 save percentage. Beskorowany is in his third professional season and is under contract with the NHL's Dallas Stars.

Fyten, 21, appeared in 11 games in his first stint in the AHL level, picking up two assists and a plus-4 rating. He returns to Idaho, where he was named an ECHL All Star earlier this season and has 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 43 games to go along with a plus-16 rating. Fyten is in his first professional season.

The Steelheads have also released forward David Toews. Toews appeared in 31 games with Idaho after being acquired in January, scoring nine goals.

Idaho concludes the regular season with three road games this week. The team plays at San Francisco on Wednesday and Friday before wrapping up the 72-game regular season with a game at Stockton on Saturday.
