Gladiators to Host "Tripp Halstead Night"

March 26, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The entire nation has witnessed the touching and heartbreaking saga of two-year-old Tripp Halstead of Winder, GA, severely injured as a result of a falling limb during storms associated with Hurricane Sandy last October.

To assist in his recovery, the Gwinnett Gladiators will host "Tripp Halstead Night", a special fundraiser and tentative "Homecoming Celebration" to benefit Tripp Halstead as part of the Gladiators final regular season home game on March 30th against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:05 p.m.

The Gladiators have set up a special advance-purchase online ticket offer to benefit Tripp and his family through the team's official website www.gwinnettgladiators.com. The Gladiators will donate $5 from every ticket sold through the special online ticket offer to the Halstead Family/TeamBOOM (www.teamboom4tripp.com). NOTE: Due to processing restrictions, fundraiser tickets will not be available day-of game at Arena at Gwinnett Center Box Office.

Fans who already hold tickets to the game on March 30th can make a donation once inside the Arena at Gwinnett Center at a designated location in the main lobby upon entry.

As the team prepares for the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs in early April, the Gladiators are hosting the fundraiser to give caring citizens from across metro Atlanta and throughout North Georgia and opportunity to come together as a community and cheer on Tripp's courageous recovery and assist in defraying the enormous cost of his medical care.

Tripp suffered a critical brain injury when a large limb fell on him as he played outside on a playground at his daycare center in October of 2012. Since then, the toddler and his family have experienced a spectrum of emotional highs and lows during his 5-month recovery ordeal. Tripp, who endured his 11th surgery earlier this week, has also become a rallying cause for hundreds of thousands across the country, with more than 350,000 people clicking "Like" on his update page on Facebook.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
