Toronto Argonauts News Release

Argos quarterback Reggie Slack was named CFL Offensive Player of the Week for his strong outing in leading the Argonauts to a 33-32 win over the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday.

Slack came back just two weeks after breaking a thumb on his throwing hand to throw for 318 yards and 3 touchdowns as he led the Argonauts to their first playoff berth since 1999.

This is the second time Slack has been named Offensive Player of the Week in 2002. Slack was previously recognized when he led the Argonauts to a 24-8 win over the Ottawa Renegades on August 1st. Slack joins Milt Stegal (3), Khari Jones (2), John Avery (2), Thomas Haskins (2) and Anthony Calvillo as the only players in the CFL to be named offensive player of the week on more than one occasion.
