Fargo, ND - The RedHawks scored four runs in the eighth off Kansas City reliever Steve Kent to lead to the eventual 8-6 Fargo-Moorhead victory on June 5, 2012 at Newman Outdoor Field.
The bottom of the eighth began with a single and stolen base by Nic Jackson. Ryan Delgado followed with a bloop single to right to score Jackson and give the RedHawks a 5-4 lead. With two outs and runners on second and third, Carlo Cota hit a line drive double off the left field wall to score two. The RedHawks picked up another run on a wild pitch that scored Cota from third.
Kansas City wouldn't give up down 8-4 in the ninth. Trevor Coleman hit a two-out double to score Kala Ka'aihue from first. Coleman would score from second after a Devin Goodwin single cut the deficit to 8-6. However it was too late for the T-Bones as RedHawks closer Tom Boleska finished the game off for Fargo-Moorhead earning his fourth save in the 8-6 victory.
Fargo-Moorhead (8-10) picked up an early 2-0 lead on a two-run single by Ryan Stovall in the second that scored Marcos Rodriguez and Cota.
Kansas City would only put up one run in the fifth inning off RedHawks starter Tyler Herron who left the ball game after pitching five innings while giving up five hits and three walks.
The RedHawks would extend their lead to 4-1 after a Todd Jennings single scored Zach Penprase and Jackson.
Kansas City came back in the seventh to tie the game 4-4 with hits by Jose Duran, Gus Milner, and Ka'aihue.
RedHawks reliever Daniel Morari picked up his first win of the season after he had pitched into the ninth and worked two innings giving up two earned runs on a hit with two strikeouts.
Kansas City reliever Steve Kent picked up his first loss of the season after giving up the four ninth inning runs that led to the Fargo-Moorhead victory. Kansas City starter Devin Anderson pitched six innings for the T-bones, giving up four runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk.
Jackson, Rodriguez, and Cota had multi-hit games to lead the RedHawks at the plate. Jennings, Cota, and Stovall each had two RBIs.
Devin Goodwin batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Kansas City (9-10) at the plate.
