Oklahoma City Comets News Release
The Oklahoma RedHawks ended a seven-game home losing streak as they defeated the Memphis RedBirds 4-0 Wednesday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Hawks won for just the seventh time in their last 23 at The Brick.
Oklahoma (60-62) jumped on the board early, with three runs on three hits, including a Nate Gold two-run homer, in the first inning. The RedHawks added another run in the fifth on a Tug Hulett solo homer.
Chris Baker (3-3) picked up the win, throwing seven shutout innings. Baker, Ezequiel Astacio and Randy Williams combined to limit the Redbirds to just six hits.
Mike Smith (10-12) took the loss, allowing four runs on 10 hits in six innings.
The same two teams play Thursday night at 7:05 pm CDT at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
