RedHawks Finish Homestand with Finale vs. Aces-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks finish an eight-game homestand with the final game of a four-game series against the Reno Aces tonight at 7:05 p.m...This is the only series between the teams in 2011...Oklahoma City enter Friday in fourth place in the American Southern division, 17.0 games behind first place Round Rock, and 4.0 games behind third place New Orleans...The Reno Aces are first place in the Pacific Northern Division, 4.5 games ahead of second place Tacoma...Tacoma and Reno meet head-to-head in the next series...
Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- LH Ryan Rowland-Smith (18G, 15GS, 2-7, 5.73ERA) makes his second start and fourth appearance since a disabled list stint with a smashed left index finger...Last time out Rowland-Smith allowed one run and three hits with one walk and two strikeouts over five innings on August 14 against Colorado Springs...Reno starter Barry Enright (17GS, 8-4, 4.84) makes his 18th appearance for Reno tonight...On August 14 Enright allowed one run and three hits over seven innings in a losing decision at New Orleans...The last winning decision for Enright came July 14 vs. Colorado Springs...
Last Game: August 18- Oklahoma City RedHawks 6, Reno Aces 3-- Brett Wallace collected three hits and drove in a pair of runs leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks to a 6-3 win over the Reno Aces before 4,808 Thursday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown...Wesley Wright (3-1) picked up a relief win, dealing two scoreless innings with one hit while Stokes (0-1) took the loss for Reno...Andy Van Hekken shaved his ERA to 3.08, still second-best in the PCL, giving up one run over five innings...The RedHawks trailed on a second inning RBI single from Tommy Manzella, but tied the score in the sixth inning on an Anderson Hernandez RBI triple...The RedHawks scored five runs in the seventh to put the game away, including RBI hits from Jordan Schafer, Brett Wallace and Oswaldo Navarro...
Schafer Continues RedHawks Rehab-- OF Jordan Schafer continues a rehabilitation assignment with the Oklahoma City RedHawks, his first game action since being traded from the Atlanta Braves in the Michael Bourn deal on July 31...Last night Schafer was 2x4 with an RBI, and is 2x7 with one RBI in two rehabilitation games...Schafer was placed on the 15-day DL July 20 with a left middle finger joint injury...Schafer is expected to stay with the RedHawks through Sunday at Iowa...
Wallace, Johnson Since Option-- Brett Wallace was 3x4 with two RBI last night, improving to .375 (21x56) with 11 RBI in an Oklahoma City uniform over 15 games...Only five of the 21 hits are for extra bases from Wallace, all five doubles...Chris Johnson has been out of the lineup since a hit-by-pitch on the left wrist in the third inning Friday August 11...Johnson has hit batting practice earlier in the week and has been cleared to start tonight's game...
Hernandez Streak Continues-- Anderson Hernandez increased his hitting streak to 16 games with two more hits last night...Nine of the 16 games have been multi-hit games...Robinson Cancel recorded the RedHawks' longest hit streak in 2011, posting a 17-game streak May 5-26...Reno's Tony Abreu hit safely in 24 straight games June 4-July 6, the longest streak in the PCL in 2011...The PCL record for consecutive games batted safely in a single season is 61 by Joe DiMaggio of San Francisco May 28-July 25, 1933...
Double Play Defense-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks lead the Pacific Coast League lead with 152 double plays...The next-closest team is Salt Lake with 149 double plays...Iowa is last in the PCL with 97 twin-killings...
