RH Rich Harden (0-2, 7.94) vs. RH Kyle Lohse (rehab, no record)
TONIGHT: The RedHawks call on rehabbing Rangers righthander Rich Harden to avoid a sweep in the finale of a 4-game series at Memphis. OKC has dropped the first 3 in Memphis, in addition to losing 6 of the last 7. The RedHawks are 2-6 on the 9-game trip that ends tonight with the final game of the season series against Memphis, which owns an 8-7 season series lead. Harden will make his fourth OKC rehab start. He's been on Texas' DL since June 12 with a strained left gluteal muscle. Last night, OKC sustained its second walk-off loss in the past 3 games by failing to hold a 6-0 lead in a 7-6 loss. OKC leads Albuquerque by 1 game in the American South. Rehabbing Kyle Lohse is due to start for Memphis.
REDHAWKS SURRENDER LARGEST LEAD: OKC failed to hold a 6-0 lead in the fifth inning last night to fall 7-6. Memphis' comeback was the largest by a RedHawks opponent this season. Previously, the largest come-from-ahead loss was June 23 at New Orleans, when the Zephyrs overcame a 4-0 OKC lead in the third inning to win 8-4. Including last night, OKC has given up a multiple-run lead in a loss only 9 times all season. On April 27, the RedHawks led Memphis 5-2 through 5 innings and lost 9-5. On May 2, New Orleans overhauled a 3-0 OKC lead through 5 innings to eventually win 8-7. On 5 occasions the RedHawks failed to hold a 2-run and lost.
ROLE REVERSAL: OKC won 6 of the first 7 against Memphis, coming within a series finale loss of sweeping each of the first 2 series, but the Redbirds have taken 7 of the last 8 in the season series. Memphis leads the season series 8-7.
BOGGS ON BASE AGAIN: Brandon Boggs owns a 24-game on-base streak dating to June 21. He has reached base by hit or walk in each of his last 47 starts since May 24, the only break in the streak being a strikeout as a pinch hitter June 19. Boggs is third in the league in walks with 62 and seventh in on-base percentage at .404.
BROWN REACHES 9: Matt Brown has hit safely in 9 straight games, going 12-for-34 (.353) with 1 homer (last night) and 5 RBIs. Brown and Mitch Moreland, with 3 RBIs each, have combined to drive in 6 of OKC's 9 runs this series. Jarrod Saltalamacchia (2-run homer last night) and Hernan Iribarren have the others.
TOPS IN ERA: The RedHawks lead the PCL in team ERA at 3.78. Iowa is second at 3.89. The RedHawks have allowed the fewest home runs (63) in Triple-A, but have given up 10 home runs in the 8 games on this trip, including 2 last night.
DIFFERENTIALLY SPEAKING: The RedHawks have out-scored their opposition 530-431. The +99 run differential is the best in PCL. The International League's Columbus Clippers are +101 and the Durham Bulls are +157. Columbus (63-40) and Durham (61-40) have the best records in Triple-A.
ERROR UPDATE: The RedHawks have played error-free the past 2 games, marking their first set of consecutive errorless games since a doubleheader sweep of New Orleans June 16. The RedHawks had played 34 games without a set of consecutive errorless contests until the past 2 games.
HOLLAND TO OKC FOR REHAB: Texas lefty Derek Holland is slated to make a rehab start for the RedHawks in Wednesday's 11:05 am game at The Brick against Round Rock. Holland has been on the Rangers' DL since June 1, (retro May 31) with inflammation of the left rotator cuff. Holland later sustained a subluxation of his right knee during a fielding drill in Surprise, Ariz. Holland was OKC's opening day starter and went 4-1 with a 0.93 ERA in 6 starts before being recalled by Texas May 13. Holland, the PCL's first Pitcher of the Week this season (April 8-19) is 2-1 with a 4.19 ERA in 5 Texas games this season, 4 of them starts.
