NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return to historic Greer Stadium this Tuesday, July 27 to begin an eight-game homestand against Omaha (Royals affiliate) and Round Rock (Astros affiliate).
The homestand begins with Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. contest, which is a KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, when fans will be able to bring in a KRAFT Singles package wrapper/proof of purchase to the box office for a Buy One Get One Free ticket offer. Tuesday night's contest will be dedicated to Bellevue as part of the Nashville Sounds "Play Ball!" Project, helping Middle Tennessee youth baseball organizations recover from major flood damage.
Following a 7:05 p.m. meeting on Wednesday, it will be Taco Bell Throwback Thursday at the ballpark. The Sounds will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms, while fans have the opportunity to enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2 beer, $2 soft drinks, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $2 nachos. College students also receive a $5 General Admission ticket with a college ID. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the 6th inning, while Slugger's will sell until the end of game. Gates open at 5:35 p.m. for the 7:05 p.m. contest.
The Sounds and division-rival Royals wrap up their 16-game season series with a 7:05 p.m. on Friday evening. The first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a 2010 Nashville Sounds team baseball card set, courtesy of Kroger and Kraft Foods.
On Saturday, the Sounds welcome the Round Rock Express to town for the teams' fourth and final series of the 2010 season. Gates open at 5:05 for the 6:35 p.m. opener and another popular postgame fireworks extravaganza will follow the on-field action.
Sunday night's 6:35 p.m. game will be another Purity Sundae Sunday with $1 ice cream sundaes available at Greer Stadium. Gates open at 5:05 p.m. Sunday night's contest will be dedicated to Ashland City as part of the Nashville Sounds "Play Ball!" Monday's 7:05 p.m. contest against the Express marks the second of three Purity Faith Nights of the season. Christian music artist Jaci Velasquez will play a Faith Night concert on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance at Greer beginning at 5:35 p.m. It is also Dollar Dog Night, when hot dogs are only $1 at concession stands.
On Tuesday, August 3rd, the Sounds wrap up the homestand with a 7:05 p.m. finale against Round Rock, the teams' last of 16 meetings of the year. It will be KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, when fans will be able to bring in a KRAFT Singles package wrapper/proof of purchase to the box office for a Buy One Get One Free ticket offer.
Following the homestand, Nashville will travel to the state of Nevada for a pair of four-game series in Reno and Las Vegas before returning to Greer Stadium on Friday, August 13 to begin another eight-game homestand.
