Zephyrs Return for 9-Game Homsetand

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs return home for a nine-game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds and Albuquerque Isotopes, starting Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

The Zephyrs won three out of four games against Memphis on the last homestand, and have beaten the defending Pacific Coast League champions in six out of eight meetings this season. The Z's will then face Albuquerque for five games, including a doubleheader on Sunday. Entering the week, New Orleans trails their division rivals by 31/2 games in the American South. The scheduled pitching matchups for the series with Memphis: Tuesday (7 pm): LH Sean West (3-3, 3.70) vs. LH Evan MacLane (5-7, 4.47) Wednesday (7 pm): RH Rick VandenHurk (7-4, 5.06) vs. RH P.J. Walters (4-2, 2.79) Thursday (7 pm): RH Brian Lawrence (9-7, 4.87) vs. RH Brandon Dickson (9-6, 3.07) Friday (7 pm): LH Wes Whisler (1-4, 6.49) vs. LH Ryan Kulik (1-1, 5.96)

The homestand begins Thursday at 7:00 p.m., and continues Wednesday with United Way Night, as the Zephyrs help United Way of Greater New Orleans with its Community Kickoff Cheers For Volunteers, featuring $1 hot dogs all night. There will be dollar sodas and $2 beer specials on Thirsty Thursday, and a spectacular fireworks show following Friday's game.

The Z's welcome Albuquerque on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., dubbed Hispanic Heritage Night, with $2 Coronas and margaritas and a postgame concert featuring Rumba Buena. Sunday's doubleheader begins at 5:00 p.m., so fans can enjoy two games for the price of one! It will be Kids Day, with the first 500 children receiving free meal vouchers, and all kids get to run the bases on the field after the second game. The homestand concludes with a Tuesday matinee, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
