RH Tanner Scheppers (1-0, 3.23) vs. RH Philip Humber (4-4, 4.63)

TONIGHT: The RedHawks seek their third straight win this series over the Omaha Royals in the third of a 4-game set at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. OKC took yesterday's game 9-3 on the strength of 3 homers and 5 RBIs from Chad Tracy (details below). The RedHawks hit a season-high 4 homers yesterday including a 2-run shot from Mitch Moreland. The RedHawks lead the American South Division by a season-high 4.5 games. Omaha is tied with third in the American North, 1 game back of Iowa and Memphis. Tanner Scheppers will make his fourth start and 12th Triple-A appearance for the RedHawks against righthander Philip Humber.

TRACY JOINS SELECT COMPANY WITH 3 HOMERS: Chad Tracy belted homers in 3 straight innings yesterday off Gaby Hernandez, becoming the fourth RedHawk to hit 3 home runs in one game since the team became known by its current name in 1998. The last time it happened was July 28, 2008 at Colorado Springs, when Nate Gold hit a trio of homers off Jason Hirsch. Nelson Cruz had a homer hat trick July 19, 2008 at The Brick against Memphis' P.J. Walters (2) and Matt Clement (1). Adrian Gonzalez homered three times at Albuquerque April 24, 2005 against Peter Bauer (2) and Ben Howard (1). Prior to re-naming the team RedHawks with the switch to AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in 1998 it was known as the Oklahoma City 89ers. The last 89ers to hit 3 homers in one game were Mark Little June 19, 1997 at Nashville and Greg Blosser Aug. 29, 1997 at Omaha.

SEVEN STRAIGHT AT HOME: The RedHawks' 9-3 win yesterday boosted their home winning streak to 7 games, a season high. OKC is 22-16 at home and 20-18 on the road.

STREAKERS: Esteban German brings an 8-game hitting streak into today's action, during which he's 11-for-30 (.367) with a homer and 4 RBIs. Craig Gentry has hit safely in all 6 games since being optioned by Texas June 22. During his streak, Gentry is 9-for-24 (.375) with 1 RBI. Mitch Moreland has a 12-game on-base streak. Lefty reliever Clay Rapada has tossed 11.2 consecutive scoreless innings. Rapada has allowed just 3 hits during the streak. His opponents' batting average of .169 is the second-lowest among PCL relievers behind Portland's Ernesto Frieri (.115). Michael Kirkman is ninth in the league in ERA at 3.09.

PETIT IS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: OKC shortstop Gregorio Petit has been named PCL Player of the Week for the period ending yesterday. Petit became the fourth player in PCL history to record 2 grand slams in one game on Tuesday in New Orleans. For the week, Petit went 10-for-25 (.400) with 2 doubles, 3 homers and 11 RBIs. He's the first Redhawk to receive the honor this season. Pitchers Derek Holland and Michael Kirkman have been Pitchers of the Week.

MORELAND PRODUCES: Right fielder Mitch Moreland added 2 RBIs yesterday on a 2-run homer, bringing his June RBI total to 23, fourth most in the PCL this month. Moreland continues to share the league lead (with Fresno's Ben Copeland) in outfield assists with 10.

DAVIS AMONG LEADERS: Chris Davis is second in the PCL batting race at .341. The player he trails, Jason Bourgeois of Round Rock (.345), is currently with the Houston Astros. Albuquerque's John Lindsey led the batting race through Saturday with a .405 mark, but because of an extended DL stint he does not have enough plate appearances to qualify.

ERA NO. 1: The RedHawks lead the PCL in team ERA at 3.55. Iowa is next at 3.80. OKC has allowed the fewest home runs in the league (40), 13 fewer than the closest team, Fresno. The RedHawks are second in strikeouts (566) behind Sacramento (575).

BIG INNING-ITIS: OKC has allowed a 3-run inning or better 9 times in the last 10 games dating to the previous trip, accounting for 29 of the 49 runs surrendered in that span. Seven of the innings, including one yesterday were 3-run innings and the other two were 4-run frames. In this series, OKC has held Omaha scoreless in 15 of 18 innings, allowing a pair of one-run innings on Saturday and a 3-run fifth Sunday.
