TONIGHT: The RedHawks begin the second series of a 2-city trip with the opener of a 4-game set against the New Orleans Zephyrs (Florida Marlins). OKC has won 4 straight against the Zephyrs after sweeping them at The Brick June 14-17. The RedHawks own an 8-4 season series lead and split the other series at Zephyr Field in late May. OKC has dropped 3 out of 4 on this trip, losing the series finale in Nashville last night 8-6. The RedHawks have a 2.5-game lead over Albuquerque and 5.5-game edge over New Orleans in the American South. Righthander Guillermo Moscoso gets the start against the Z's Rick VandenHurk.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH: For the month of June, Chris Davis is leading all of North American professional baseball in hitting with a .479 average, including the majors and all full-season, affiliated minor leagues. Texas outfielder Josh Hamilton is second in June batting at .474. Davis has hit safely in 19 of 20 games in June, adding 4 homers and 15 RBIs. He's also leading all minor leaguers this month in hits (35) and is second in MiLB in on-base percentage (.523) behind Brandon Belt of the Class A San Jose Giants (.565). Davis has hit safely in 9 straight (17-for-33, .515) and has recorded 6 straight multiple-hit games.

SALTY VS. NEW ORLEANS: OKC catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia is batting .406 (13-for-32) in 8 games against the Zephyrs, with 3 doubles, 6 homers and 11 RBIs. Six of his 9 homers and half of his season total of 22 RBIs have come against New Orleans. Each of his last 5 homers has been off Zephyrs pitching and Saltalamacchia has homered in 5 straight games he has played against the Z's.

MORELAND PRODUCES: Right fielder Mitch Moreland has 19 RBIs in June, matching the third-highest total in the PCL. Moreland and Salt Lake's Mark Trumbo are tied for third behind June leader Brett Pill of Fresno (22) and Allen Craig of Memphis (21).

HOMER HAPPY: The RedHawks have homered in 9 straight games, totalling 14 in that span, and are 28-14 when hitting at least 1 homer in a contest. They are 11-17 when homerless. The RedHawks have hit 17 home runs that tied a game or gave them the lead in the fifth inning or later. OKC is 13-4 when getting a game-tying or lead-taking homer from the fifth inning on (see chart on page 6 for details). In 12 games against New Orleans, the RedHawks have hit 18 homers, accounting for 27.3 % of their season total of 66 home runs.

LONG GAMES THE RULE: Last night's game time of 3 hours, 19 minutes continued a trend of long OKC games. The RedHawks have played for 3 hours, 1 minute or longer in 12 of the last 16 scheduled 9-inning games. Ten of the last 16 have been 3 hours, 11 minutes or more. Included in that are a 12-inning game June 6, an 11-inning affair June 7 and a 10-inning contest June 15.

PITCHING NO. 1: OKC leads the PCL lead in team ERA at 3.55. Iowa, which allowed 14 earned runs yesterday, is second at 3.68. The RedHawks have allowed the fewest home runs in the league (34), 13 fewer than the closest team, Tacoma.
