ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-Minor League Baseball Charities™ has presented a $25,000 check to the Nashville Sounds Foundation to assist the Pacific Coast League club with its "Play Ball! Project." The Sounds created the endeavor as a result of the flash floods in early May that damaged many local youth baseball fields, equipment and facilities in the Shelby Park, Mount Juliet, Hendersonville, Ashland City and Bellevue areas.

"Minor League Baseball Charities is proud to participate with the Nashville Sounds in helping the people of greater-Nashville return some normalcy to their lives," said Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner. "Through the support of our clubs and leagues, we are able to jump start the rebuilding process in central Tennessee."

"Because of the generosity of donors like Minor League Baseball, our project has been able to recover playing fields, replace equipment and rebuild concessions and fan service areas in those facilities hardest hit by the devastating spring floods in the area," remarked Sounds VP of Sales and Marketing Brad Tammen. "Over 15,000 baseball and softball players, and over 40 area playing fields, can now get the attention they've so desperately needed to salvage their season and, in some cases, the future of their programs."
