June 22, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - John Andretti, Window World and the No. 43 Window World/Richard Petty Indy Car will take to the streets in Colorado Springs June 25 - 27. The weekend tour is part of a quest to raise $1.5 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through the replacement window company's charitable foundation, Window World Cares. Activities rev up Friday night at Fan Fest in downtown Colorado Springs, take a pit stop at the Sky Sox baseball game Saturday night, then cross the finish line at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) on Sunday.
At the Sky Sox game on Saturday, the Sky Sox players and coaches will don specially made racing-theme jerseys that fans will be able to bid on through silent and live auctions. Each game-worn jersey will be autographed by the player following the game and the highest bidder will walk away with this unique piece of baseball memorabilia. In addition, fans can make a donation to St. Jude's and be entered into a drawing to win a special team signed jersey and a John Andretti-autographed Sky Sox Jersey. No donation is necessary to enter to win a "House of Windows," compliments of Window World (10 windows or maximum value of $2,500) at the game as well. All proceeds from the auction and raffle will benefit St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
"This weekend is all about engaging the Colorado Springs community to raise money for a great cause - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - and we're thrilled to have John Andretti and the No. 43 Indy Car to help," said Chris Lehmkuhl, owner of Window World of Colorado Springs. "There's a busy schedule of fundraising events around the community, all leading up to the Pikes Peak International Climb, where John will drive the Pace Car and preside as Grand Marshall for Sunday's race."
John Andretti and the No. 43 Window World Indy Car will be appearing at the following events:
* Fan Fest - Friday, June 25, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., www.ppihc.com

Window World Cares, the charitable foundation of the nation's largest replacement window company Window World, Inc., launched the program "Opening Windows for St. Jude Kids" earlier this year with the goal of raising $1.5 million - the hospital's daily operating cost. To date, Window World Cares has raised $1 million for St. Jude.
