RedHawks, Cubs Continue Five-Game Set-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks continue a nine-game stretch against the Iowa Cubs with a 7:05 p.m. CT start in game three of a five-game series at RedHawks Field at Bricktown...The RedHawks are 7-6 against the Iowa Cubs in 2011, including a 4-1 record at RedHawks Field...The Round Rock Express have clinched the American Southern division, while the RedHawks enter Wednesday in fourth place, 4.0 games behind third place New Orleans and 5.0 games behind second place Albuquerque...The RedHawks have eight consecutive games against New Orleans following the current series...
Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- RedHawks starter Xavier Cedeno (9G, 1GS, 2-2, 7.80) makes his second start with the RedHawks, moving into J.A. Happ's former spot in the starting rotation...Happ is starting for the Astros tonight in San Francisco...Cedeno was a Texas League All-Star in 2011, his first season in the Astros organization, after going unsigned all of 2010...Cubs starter Jay Jackson (23G, 7-13, 5.81) makes his 24th start with the Iowa Cubs...Jackson defeated OKC on July 15, giving up one run and six hits in seven innings...The RedHawks gave Jackson a losing decision last time out on August 21, scoring two runs and seven hits in six innings...
Last Game: August 25 - OKC RedHawks 7, Iowa Cubs 6 (10inn)-- After losing a 6-1 lead after seven innings, the RedHawks rallied for a 7-6 win in 10 innings before 4,242 Friday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown...Oswaldo Navarro drove in the game-winning run with a 10th inning single...Brett Wallace paced the RedHawks attack early and finished 4-for-5 with three RBI...Jeff Fulchino (1-0) collected a relief win while Blake Parker (2-3) gave up the game-winning run in the tenth inning for the loss...Jordan Lyles made a 1.1 inning relief appearance, giving up four runs and five hits with one walk and one strikeout...Dallas Keuchel gave up one run and four hits in seven innings, but did not factor in the decision as the RedHawks blew the early lead...
Home Run for Life-- The RedHawks will celebrate the final "Home Run for Life" promotion during Saturday's game against Iowa, honoring Oklahoma City Police Officer Chad Peery... Peery and INTEGRIS rehabilitation specialists will be in attendance at Saturday's game, as Peery completes an honorary lap around the bases marking a milestone in his rehabilitation from paralysis...The "Home Run for Life" promotion is scheduled at the end of the third inning, and cameras are invited on the field behind home plate between innings for this special event...Gather in tunnel behind RedHawks dugout prior to the inning...Peery and INTEGRIS representatives will be available to the media in the family room near the RedHawks clubhouse in the middle of the fourth inning tomorrow night...
Hernandez Streak Approaching League-Best in 2011-- Anderson Hernandez increased his hitting streak to 23 games with a first inning single and one other hit...Hernandez has a hit in his first plate appearance in eight of the 23 games, including four of the last five games...Hernandez has posted a .416 (42x101) average during the streak...Reno's Tony Abreu hit safely in 24 straight games June 4-July 6, the longest streak in the PCL in 2011...The PCL record for consecutive games batted safely in a single season is 61 by Joe DiMaggio of San Francisco May 28-July 25, 1933...
Lyles in Relief-- Jordan Lyles made his RedHawks bullpen debut last night, giving up four earned runs and five hits in 1.1 innings...Lyles dealt 38 pitches with 24 strikes...
Del Rosario Begins Rehab Assignment-- Astros reliever Enerio Del Rosario has started a rehabilitation assignment with the RedHawks, recovering from a right shoulder strain...Del Rosario is expected to throw an inning tonight for the RedHawks...Del Rosario was placed on the 15-day disabled list August 6...In 44 games with Houston, Del Rosario is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA (23ER/46.0IP)...
Shuck Returns to OKC-- J.B. Shuck has been optioned to OKC, making room for J.A. Happ on the Astros active roster...In his return last night, Shuck had a first inning single...With OKC in 2011 Shuck is batting .301 (101x336), with 52 BB and 29SO...Shuck played in 16 games with the Astros, batting .250 (11x44)...With OKC, Shuck is batting .302 with 27 RBI...
